Today, I was in the park whilst working out with the babies in the buggy beside me. This very sweet older lady came over to tell me to take it easy and that mothers today put way to much pressure on themselves. I found myself trying to justify why I was wanting to exercise.
Obviously, this played on my mind for the rest of the day trying to justify her comments. In actual fact there are many depths of truth to this. Society, however does in fact apply much pressure on mums today, everyone seems to have an opinion… from how you look, to what you wear, how you parent your children… the list goes on. Us mums just can’t seem to get a break!
On reflection exercise is something I enjoy and that is why I do it, not because I feel the pressure to conform in getting my post pregnancy body back. And that ladies is the key… Do what you feel is best for you, in short, do YOU!
Everyone’s journey in life is so personal and it is important to not walk around with blinkers on expecting mothers to follow your journey.
