Sophie’s Choice Since 1988′ started over lunch with one of my best friends. Coincidently she also has twins, but hers came before mine. Do I think our friendship was a coincidence?!?! I think not! I now think we were always meant to be best of friend’s sharing our journey of bringing up twins together. We could not have planned this even if you had tried!

I always knew I wanted to start a blog but there were a few things holding me back. One, I had a fear of failure. Two, I wasn’t sure if I had enough time to fully commit myself to a blog and Three, I wasn’t sure which subjects I wanted to concentrate on. After a lot of discussions with friends and family I have decided to just take a leap of faith and go for it. We concluded that I should write about my passions. Healthy eating, fitness, beauty and wellbeing, with the odd recommendation of a fantastic coffee shop and places to go for dinner, all leading to a beautiful you! Now that I am also expecting twins I am sure you will also hear about my fails and triumphs of first time motherhood along the way.

My passion for beauty started when I was training to be a beauty therapist; I trained at the top ‘Champneys’ beauty college in Tring. From there I gained the experience and knowledge about beauty I know today. I am now a mobile therapist with an amazing supportive client base, I am always looking at introducing new treatments and opening my eyes to new techniques.

My healthy eating comes hand in hand with beauty as everything you put into your body shows through your skin. Also, both my sister and boyfriend have Type 1 Diabetics and suffer with celiac disease. Being celiac means that you are allergic to gluten, a protein that is found in wheat, barley, and rye. Eating gluten triggers an immune response in your small intestine. This reflects in my cooking at home, as I am always trying new dishes that they can appreciate without having to make a compromise. I am finding more and more gluten-free products on the market that actually taste great and more restaurants are catering for people with allergies which is fantastic.

My love for fitness is just a general interest of mine, this started from wanting to train for the London Marathon which unfortunately I couldn’t complete as I fractured my hip. I did this through training too hard and too fast and not listening to my body. I aim to complete the London marathon one day but will train the correct way and update you with my progress along the way.

As for my recommendations of coffee shops and lovely little restaurants, this is just a hobby. I love nothing more than meeting friends for breakfast lunch and dinners, whether it’s running to primrose hill and meeting a friend for breakfast or taking a long walk along the countryside stopping half way at a rustic pub for lunch or generally finding brilliant hidden treasures I will be more than happy to share.
